For the Layer Standards, there are two dwg templates to download, one loaded with layers based on the CISFB classification system, and the other based on the Uniclass system. The intention of these templates is to provide a useful platform to develop and customise your own layer standards based on either of these two systems.

Both are internationally recognised classification systems and useful for any construction related disciplines. Itís recommended that anyone using these templates, does so in conjunction with other documentation relating to CISFB & Uniclass, both of which are freely available on the internet.

The layers have all been prefixed with the author code A for architect, but can obviously be changed to suit any other discipline. Also, colours have not been assigned to the layers to afford the user their own choices.

These templates have been set up to comply with British Standards BS 1192 guidlines but we would recommend referring to BS 1192 documentation if further guidance is required.

If youíre unsure about which system to use, we would recommend CISFB, itís simple, easy to understand and expand and itís commonly used for construction literature classification around the world.
