Why get trained on Sketchup?

A note from AutoCAD trainer, Mark Shepherd

I started venturing into Sketchup a few years ago as it had become so popular in architecture & interior design. I worked on a few projects for fun and managed to produce drawings for two houses and also a product design. My AutoCAD experience helped me a lot but when I decided to get Ryan to give me a 1-on-1 session earlier this year, I was quite surprised at how little I knew. I also found out very quickly that my self-taught techniques were hugely inefficient compared with my AutoCAD skills.

We are sometimes asked by clients why they should get Sketchup training when it appears to be so easy to learn compared with other CAD programmes, and the main reason is productivity. Anyone who is serious about being productive with their drawings would be advised to seek training. The industry-specific techniques that you will learn will literally save you hours over a full day of drawing.
